FAQ – CHILDRENS GROUP MUSIC CLASSES

When and where do the classes run?
Childrens Group Music Classes  are held at a private music studio in Jannali, NSW.

Can I join a class anytime? Or do I need to start at the beginning of the term?
You can join a class anytime of the term. The class fees are adjusted accordingly.

How do I enroll my child in a class?

Can I do a trial class before enrolling?
Yes! A free trial is always encouraged.

What happens if I can’t attend a class?
Please advise the teacher 24 hours before the class that you are unable to attend.  The missed lesson will be credited to the following term (unless the lesson can be made up during the term). If the teacher receives less then 24 hours notice, the lesson fee will still be charged. 

Can siblings attend the class?
If siblings are both in the same age bracket they can both enroll in the class. If you are unable to arrange alternate care for a sibling please contact the teacher to see what can be arranged.

Do I need to be present and participate?
In the Adventurer program parents are present and participate in the class.

In the Explorer and Maestro programs parents are encouraged to join in for the last 10 minutes of the lesson.

What training does the teacher have?
Katie is a qualified MusikMakers Teacher with over 5 years experience teaching the program including 2 years at the Australian Institute of Music.

Katie has also completed her 8th Grade Piano Examination with the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB). She is currently studying for her Certificate in Music Teaching with the AMEB.

Can we bring food or drink to the class?
Food and drinks are not permitted in the class or to be consumed during the class except water. Some children have severe health allergies and even the presence of some food traces can cause dangerous allergic reactions. Also eating during active play is a choking hazard.

 

FAQ – PIANO LESSONS

How long is a lesson?
Standard lessons are 30 minutes. Longer lessons can be arranged as the student progresses to more complex pieces.

When are where do lessons take place?
Lessons take place at a private music studio at Peakhurst and Jannali, NSW. Please contact the teacher for the address.
Lessons are currently offered on Monday afternoons and Saturdays.

Can my child prepare for an AMEB exam?
Yes. Preparation for Level 1 in the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) exams is offered. Level 1 includes Preliminary to Grade 4 Piano and Piano for Leisure exams.
