Designed for young musicians aged approximately 8–14 who are already learning an instrument, our Music Theory Workshops introduce the essential skills needed to prepare for the AMEB Grade 1 Theory exam in a fun, practical and supportive group environment.
Across two-hour workshops, students will explore key concepts including scales, intervals, chords, transposition, time signatures, musical terminology and more. Through games, hands-on challenges and group activities, they’ll build their understanding of music theory while learning alongside other young musicians.
Small groups, big learning! With just four students per workshop, everyone gets the opportunity to participate, ask questions and build confidence.
Students will generally need to attend approximately four workshops to develop the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for the AMEB Grade 1 Theory exam.
